How to get to Camiguin from Manila
I received an inquiry about the best (a.k.a. fastest) way to get to Camiguin from Manila.
If you must visit Cebu before going to Camiguin, there's a separate guide - Getting to Camiguin from Cebu.
After closer inspection, I identified three routes travelers and tourists can choose from: two via Cagayan de Oro City and one via Bohol. All of which have, at least, one trip a day.
1. Via Cagayan de Oro City A
This is the most reliable route you can take as there are several trips from Balingoan to Camiguin every day.
- Manila to CDO - Plane - roughly 2 hours
- CDO to Balingoan, Misamis Oriental - Bus - 2 hours
- Balingoan to Benoni, Camiguin - Barge - 1 hour
You'll arrive in Lumbia Airport in Cagayan de Oro City. Take a cab to the Agora Bus Terminal for the land travel from CDO to Balingoan. Be sure to tell the 'conductor' to drop you off Balingoan.
2. Via Cagayan de Oro City B
This is definitely the fastest way to get to Camiguin. However, there's only one trip from CDO to Benoni every day.
- Manila to CDO - Plane - roughly 2 hours
- CDO to Benoni, Camiguin - Fastcraft (Paras Seacat) - 2 hours
Take a cab from Lumbia Aiport to Macabalan Pier. Check the trip schedule of Paras Seacat.
3. Via Bohol
If you want to take a tour of the beautiful Bohol before going to Camiguin, this is your route.
- Manila to Tagbilaran, Bohol - Plane - 1.5 hours
- Tagbilaran to Jagna, Bohol - Bus - 1.5 hours
- Yuu have to options:
- Jagna to Balbagon, Camiguin - Barge - roughly 4 hours
- Jagna to Benoni - Fastcraft (Paras Seacat) - 2 hours
